Greetings Readers!

Well as last week wasn't a strong week for comics, this week broke some ground. Issue 4's for the New 52 and Marvel released some good content as well. So let's get down to brass tacks:

capshieldAction Comics 4: Action Comics is the cornerstone of the DC Universe and with the introduction of of a new villain and a familiar face (spoiler alert) Steel. His intro was sound, but the original way Steel debuted was just better. It happened out of the Doomsday battle when superman went down Steel stood strong as a replacement. Still even though his current debut isn't strong, Action number 4 is. Even if you're not a superman fan.

Best line: I am that weapon!

capshieldVenom 10: At first I was excited with the Captain America crossover, and then I wasn't because the story didn't make sense, and then Venom fought Captain America, and that was it. The story goes against everything we've admired about Flash Thompson, and the government he works for. Still those who enjoy hero vs hero fights might have something to get excited about here but alas only for a few pages.

Best line: ...your boyfriends back.

capshieldJLI 4: Who is leading this team!?!? Is it Batman? Who definitely is not as dark and brooding as he is in the Bat titles. Is it Booster Gold? Who isn't as nearly as funny as he should be. Is it Guy Gardner? Well no, he just doesn't take orders very well, but still it seems the writers don't want fans to get angry about Batman taking orders from Booster so they leveled the field a bit. The book itself carries a balanced amount of action and humor that should satisfy even the most hardcore fans.

Best line:  No one gets three

capshieldAvenging Spider-Man 2: Red Hulk is currently my favorite marvel character. Spider-man is everyone else's, what isn't there to love? But seriously this book is great. I like the idea of a brave and the bold marvel book but I think red hulk and spider-man could carry their own monthly title. I'd pick this title up, cool new villain and spider-man and red hulk are a riot to listen to.

Best line:  Only one of you will survive.

capshieldRed Lantern 4: The Red Lantern monthly cannot escape expositionville fast enough. Don't get me wrong, I understand we need to learn about these characters before we can care about them but these guys talk to each other by vomiting blood. How much do we need to know? This title has the ability to become awesome...just as soon as we know who everyone is and why they are who they are. Right? Right.

Best line: Get the truth out of him, use the oven.

Most pulled on Comixology: Action Comics 4

Staff picks:
Josh- JLI 4
Joe- Red Lanterns 4
Patrick- Men of War
Naomi- Stormwatch 4

Like comics but done with super heroes? We recommend the Walking Dead hardcovers for your reading needs. Plenty of blood, death, and overall craziness to satisfy even the most obnoxious Romero fan.
