What will you do differently now that your approach to being a teacher is becoming focused on helping the learner to learn? HOW DO YOU DIAGNOSE YOUR STUDENTS' INPUT STATE? The key to assessing the input state on a regular basis is to interact with the learners. That is, we must engage the students in a dialogue. This is the only way that we can determine what they know and what they can do with the information that they possess and, hence, determine the kind of help the students need.
